Diggin' the pizza at Pioneer Pizza! It was recommended to us by a guide at Wet Planet rafting. I'm a fan of creative pizza toppings and Pioneer did not disappoint! We had a Mexican inspired pizza with pork shoulder, beans, green chili sauce and cilantro. A bit of hot sauce on the top and -- wow -- it was perfect. Decent beer selection, too.

The fried chicken: get it in your mouth now. Slaw was creamy and slightly spicy. So good. Family friendly and good food.

A hit with my kids! After a swim at the White Salmon pool, I stopped with my sons ages 6 & 8 and we had a fun, relaxed dinner. They loved the food and the arcade games and really had fun, especially when other kids we knew walked in. My six year old raved about his kids size meal of fried chicken & jo jos and a generous scoop of ice cream included. They also ate up a tasty green house salad. I loved that hard cider is on tap. Service was casual, friendly and very attentive. A really cool, original space, beautifully decorated. One suggestion is to improve the gluten free pizza crust (too thick) but everything else was wonderful!

New place in town and still working out some kinks I think. Stopped in and waited longer than I thought I should for a menu. I ordered the Pioneer Spirit pizza and added some Mama Lil's. Good pizza, the sausage topping was particularly good. step up the service and perhaps allow the crust to crisp up a little more before pulling it from the oven and it'll be a 5 star pizza in a 5 star place.

OK, the name indicates this is a pizza place, but it has the best fried chicken I have ever had. Crispy, tender, OMG, soooo good. Beet salad was tasty. Not a huge fan of wedge fries, but I am here. Pizza crust was perfect. Staff was very nice. Decor was too cool.

first time in and loved it. they had a nice selection of draft beers including some awesome local brews out of hood river. i noticed the yelp reviews for the squash topping pizza. its actually the farm fresh pizza which is whatever is in season - my pizza had garlic scapes and goat cheese,,,excellent combo along with pesto and red peppers. i spent some time in the area with the dart board chalk drawing on the walls with ms 8 year old keeley. the pizza box art and other art was groovy too. our server was super nice. we will be back.

They place looked awesome. I got the triple berry refresher which lacked any sort of flavor. And we got the chorizo pineapple pizza which I had one bite of and didn't want any more. Waitress was very nice. But food and mixed drinks were awful! Will not be going back. Much better choices else where.

Came in on a tues night at 9. We came because they were open till 11. Walked in and was told the kitchen was closed. Not even a late nigh bar menu. Sold us old pizza by the slice that they warmed up. Way too much. Cool vibe. Just wish they served food.

Heard about the pizza and was looking forward to the visit. In short, long wait, rude manager or owner, pizza was nothing special. I'll never return since there are much better options in Hood River for pizza and a better place for beer across the street.

Humm...if you don't mind waiting long periods of time with small children for your meal and if your hungry children don't mind getting their food last, then this just might fit the bill. Or, put another way, if pizza or chicken is your only option for a meal after a long day and/or if you are in a hurry and you just need a quick meal to satisfy your children before bed so you can enjoy the rest of the evening you might want to think again if Pioneer is your only choice. Here's wishing Pioneer the best in their endeavors to bump up this rating because the pizza is pretty good, but not worth the agony of waiting for. All the best Pioneer. Please put out a sign when the ratings jump up for efficiency and speedy service.

What a great variety of veggies pizzas, loved the squash on the pizza. Also had two different salads, nice to have a local pizza place and not a chain. Really good ingredients. :P
